Sierra Leone starts its statement
reminding the devastating war in which it was involved. During the war time,
the major issue of connecting people, ideas, aspirations, problems and
obstacles became something inaccessible. But the access to information
brought the country's situation to the attention of the global community.
With the collective effort, Sierra Leone had a peace-keeping force that
helped to stabilize its situation. Sierra Leone affirms that the global
community, helping the country in becoming full partner of the information
society, is contributing to its sustainable development. The combination of
a conductive land environment with the application of the appropriate
information technologies will increase the farmers productivity. The
generosity of the global community for the WSIS projects will be
appreciated.
