The
Republic of Poland sees the exchange of information and the free flow of
ideas without prohibitions as a way to guarantee the protection of essential
human rights. It underlines the importance of internet in our days. The
Republic of Poland, conscious of all the negative factors linked to the
social phenomenon of Internet - such as cyber crime and intellectual
property rights violation - recognizes that it is a “source of
enlightenment and social changes” that can lead the states and the societies
to values of peace, freedom, democracy, human rights and good governance.
In
Poland the development of the information society is supported by the
governmental strategy called e-Poland. The principal strategies are : to
develop ICT infrastructure, to facilitate the development of a
relevant e-content, to provide online citizen-oriented public administration
services, to promote the development of e-commerce, of e-learning and of
e-health and to expand the use of ICTs in the area of education. Poland also
adds to its statement that Internet and other ICTs technologies can be a
tool for forecasting and preventing global threats and a perfect way to
implement the idea of sustainable development.
