Belgium underlines that the
information society must be included in the Universal Declaration of the
Human Rights, especially concerning freedom of opinion and of expression and
the access to information. It affirms that media should take care to
transmit impartial, serious and transparent information. Protection of
knowledge is a crucial aspect for the fast development of the information
society. It is essential, for the development of an information society, to
respect the international standards of work as defined by International
Labor Organization. The protection of the family and the respect for the
diversity of familiar composition is a central aspect as well. The current
partnership between the public sector and the private sector must be
continued.
