Argentina starts its
intervention emphasizing that the respect for human, civil, political,
social and economic rights constitutes a condition to build the Information
Society. It reminds us that inequalities still exist. And says that we have
to work in order to minimize the asymmetries. It sees the new technologies
as a tool to promote social, economic and cultural inclusion. The government
of Argentina's main national strategy is to surpass the poverty, to install
the bases of a sustainable development the democratization as well as the
development of educative, scientific and technological systems. Argentina
relates that the biggest obstacle to the expansion of the ICTs is the weight
of its external debt.
The
Argentine delegation considers essential the preservation of cultural
identity and the diffusion of contents in different languages and formats.
Argentine invites the developed countries to cooperate with developing
countries.
