The
Principality of Andorra says that has not been unconnected from the
applications of the new technologies. Andorra acted, in the first place, in
the sphere of education. Today all Adorran schools have computers as a
support of teaching. All schools are connected to the internet and the
University of Andorra has agreements with other universities to provide
university teaching via Internet. To face the technological challenges, the
government of Andorra set up the Department for Information Society. It
clarifies some statistics, per one thousand inhabitants : the number of
telephone lines is 670; the number of mobile phones is 840; the number of
persons using the internet is 557; and the number of internet connection
points is 436.
Andorra adds that we must have solidarity with the developing countries.
